Women's Ministries
My
name is Sue Kerrigan and together with Kate Coffee serve as Co-Director of
Women's Ministries here at Shoreline Covenant Church. Here's how I got here: Although I grew up in the church, I was 15 years old before I placed my trust in
Jesus Christ. I began serving in the church in various capacities as I pursued
an education (BA in English, University of Oregon), worked at various jobs
(technical writer, child care center director), got married to Dave and raised 4
children, Janet, Davey, Christian and Kathleen. I began attending Shoreline
Covenant with my family in 1993 when my children were young and continued to
serve the Lord through this fellowship. I volunteered in Women's Ministries
Spiritual Growth Ministry and Outreach Ministry. Kate and I worked together a
few years ago as co-leaders of Women's Ministries. I took a break for a few
years as I returned to school (AA in Nursing, Everett Community College) and now
am an RN in dialysis nursing at Puget Sound Kidney Center. Last fall I accepted
the call to serve again in Women's Ministries. Hi! I'm Kate Coffee. My journey with Christ began as I was
raised in the Presbyterian church. I asked Jesus into my heart when I was eleven
at church camp. I've been at SCC for nineteen years and have been blessed to be
involved in a variety of ministries- from working with children, to music as a
worship leader and singing with “Voices of Praise” as well as to serving the
women of our church family. As a co-director with Sue we keep as our goal the
focus on how God would have us minister to women. I am frequently surprised at
the ways God uses me and look forward to the coming year as Sue and I work, side
by side with our team ministering to the women of Shoreline Covenant. I also work as a pediatric rheumatology R.N. At Children's Hospital & Regional
Medical Center. The areas I enjoy most in my personal life are gardening,
reading, having friends over, spending time with family, and seeing what's
around the next curve in the road! |
